Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

Filmore Street is one of San Francisco’s signature upscale shopping streets. The high-end boutiques lining Filmore Street include New York City womenswear brand Intermix, fashion-forward denim and casual wear retailer Rag & Bone, sustainability-focused Reformation, and the flagship store from the local sister's design duo Veronica Beard. There’s always a line for pastries at B. Patisserie on California Street but the artful Parisian and Viennese-style treats are more than worth the wait. Pacific Heights’ Italian dining options include casual farm-to-table Neapolitan eatery Pizzeria Delfina and classy entrees and tasting menus at Michelin-starred SPQRSalt & Straw on Filmore Street serves delicious small-batch chef-driven ice cream prepared by hand with the finest local ingredients. Other Filmore Street dining highlights include seasonal small plates served dim sum style at State Bird Provisions, craft cocktails and Eastern Mediterranean eats at Noosh, and New England-style seafood at Woodhouse Fish Co.

Things to Do

Spanning close to 11.5 acres, Lafayette Park is Pacific Heights’ signature greenspace. This expansive hillside park offers sweeping views over the Marina district, Buena Vista Park, Twin Peaks, and Alcatraz Island in the San Francisco Bay. Amenities at Lafayette Park include a children’s playground, two tennis courts, and a dog park. The Lyon Street Steps also provide spectacular views over the grand homes of Pacific Heights and out to the SF Bay. At the top of the Lyon Street Steps, Broadway unfolds with the spectacular residences comprising Pacific Heights’ Billionaire’s Row. The views at 12-acre Alta Plaza Park stretch out over the city in all directions. The park features five tiered staircases that movie buffs will recognize from a car chase scene in the 1971 Ryan O’Neal and Barbara Streisand film What’s Up Doc? The scene was filmed in the park without authorization and the stairs still bear the scars of the cars which sped down them. Alta Plaza Park also features a large enclosed playground and three tennis courts.
